I began studying Chinese calligraphy in Taiwan at the age of six, moving into ink painting by ten, where I developed a deep connection to the practice. When my family moved to Ireland in 1994, I brought my brushes with me and continued this discipline alongside my life in Cork.
Over time, this foundation evolved into a parallel practice of fine liner drawings in sketchbooks—often seen in the black books on my jewellery table at markets. Whether brush or pen, the essence remains the same: a continuous, deliberate line drawn without correction, guided by focus and a meditative state.
In 2024, after 30 years in Ireland, I returned to Taiwan to revisit my practice, which reignited my love for Chinese ink painting and renewed my commitment to it.
My work is rooted in my surroundings in Bishopstown, Cork, translated through ink. Across ink, pen, and metal, there is a shared language of steady hand, control, and attentiveness to process.
This is the first time I am releasing my original Chinese ink paintings for sale. Pricing reflects each work’s nature—ranging from exploratory studies to more resolved compositions. Each carries my red seal, marking authorship and lineage.
All works are approx. 300 × 300 mm unless stated otherwise. All works are unframed. Please contact the artist if you would like framing arranged locally.
